To prevent Chaos on National Highway Zirakpur, Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain, today, held a comprehensive meeting with NHAI authorities and district officials.
The deputy commissioner ordered the NHAI authorities to streamline the traffic bottlenecks on the National Highway and install permanent pumps at spots like Palm resorts / MC D to drain out the flooded water during rainy days.
She said that the NHAI road heading towards Chandigarh and Ambala, Patiala should be maintained in such a way that nobody should be stuck in traffic jams due to one or another reason.
On being requested by the NHAI to take appropriate action against the developers causing hindrance in the smooth traffic by pumping out the water from their projects on the NHAI, the deputy commissioner immediately asked the SDMs to take stringent action against the violators. SDM Derabassi Himanshu Gupta apprised of the DC that acting on the complaints received from the NHAI, five notices have been issued to certain housing societies and projects for allegedly draining out the water on the main road.
The deputy commissioner also reviewed the undergoing works by the NHAI and asked them to expedite the pending works.
Meeting was attended by ADC (G) Viraj S Tidke, ADC (UD) Damanjit Singh Mann, ADC (RD) Geetika Singh, Project Director NHAI Pardeep Atri, SDMs Himanshu Gupta Derabassi and Ravinder Singh Kharar and Mohali, District Revenue Officer Gurjinder Singh Benipal.
