Chandigarh, May 12
Haryana Energy Minister Anil Vij has ordered the immediate suspension of Junior Engineer (JE) Rajender Singh, posted in Charkhi Dadri City, for alleged negligence in duty that led to a substantial financial loss to the state electricity distribution company.
The directive was issued to the Managing Director of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (DHBVNL) following the receipt of a charge sheet and an official report highlighting irregularities related to the release of electricity connections under Singh’s supervision.
Rajender Singh, who was serving as AFM/Area In-Charge under SDO/OP, City Charkhi Dadri, has been accused of dereliction of duty and actions that resulted in significant revenue loss to the discom.
A report prepared by the XEN of the OP Division, Charkhi Dadri, was submitted to the Chief Engineer, OP Circle, DHBVNL, Bhiwani, and subsequently forwarded to the office of the Energy Minister.
The charge sheet cites serious lapses, including negligence and misconduct in releasing power connections, which violated operational protocols and caused damage to public resources.
In light of the severity of the charges, Minister Anil Vij ordered the suspension of Rajender Singh, son of Bheem Singh, with immediate effect, pending further investigation and disciplinary proceedings.
The DHBVNL is expected to initiate a departmental inquiry to determine accountability and implement corrective measures.
