Former Punjab Health Minister and Congress leader Balbir Singh Sidhu, targeting Bhagwant Mann’s comment against Congress’s Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, said, “Such statements from the Mann government clearly reflect his mentality. Whatever Mann has said against Rahul Gandhi is very shameful and condemnable. These statements clearly show that Bhagwant Mann has joined the BJP government’s ‘troll army.’ This group is known for blaming others and nothing else.”
Calling Bhagwant Mann an agent of BJP, Sidhu said, “From forcibly removing Farmers from the borders to rejecting farmer demands and making baseless statements about opposition leaders, Bhagwant Mann is clearly following in the footsteps of the BJP and Narendra Modi. And as for the matter of ‘leadership,’ how can a party whose Chief Minister is in the hands of Delhi itself make a statement about leadership? Bhagwant Mann is only working on the instructions of BJP and Kejriwal—he has no knowledge of what is happening in his own state.”
Sidhu further said about Bhagwant Mann, “Recently, Mann had said in the Vidhan Sabha that he cannot get this resolution passed without the consent of Amit Shah, which clearly shows that he is now working on the command of BJP. They have become puppets in the name of fighting drugs. Bulldozing houses in the name of fighting drugs, taking action against farmers, and now making baseless statements about Rahul Gandhi— all of these make it clear how Bhagwant Mann has adopted the BJP’s methods and is following in their footsteps.”
Talking about Rahul Gandhi, Sidhu said, “Rahul Gandhi is a leader who is always fighting for the welfare of the poor and the youth. He did Bharat Jodo Yatra to unite the youth and people of the country, but what did the Mann government do? He looted the people of Punjab, made false promises, and plunged the state into debt.”
Sidhu demanded, “Bhagwant Mann should apologize for his statement against Rahul Gandhi and instead of making unnecessary statements, he should focus on the deteriorating situation of the state.”
