Ludhiana DC reviews preparations for Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan event on January 11 at PAU

Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal conducted a review of the preparations for the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan event, scheduled to take place at Punjab Agricultural University on January 11.

The event will be presided over by Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Dr. Virendra Kumar, and Punjab Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Baljit Kaur.

In discussions with officials, the Deputy Commissioner, accompanied by ADC Rohit Gupta, CM Field Officer Kritika Goyal, and others, provided detailed instructions and ordered the officials to ensure the successful execution of the event. He emphasized the need for comprehensive arrangements regarding security, medical services, traffic management, cleanliness, parking, power supply, and fire safety protocols.

Jorwal stated that nodal officers have been assigned to guarantee foolproof arrangements for traffic diversion, vehicle parking, security, medical assistance, and other required facilities. He instructed officials to ensure that all dignitaries, students, and the public experience no inconveniences during the event. Additionally, he announced that a walkathon will follow the event, in which the chief guests will participate to disseminate the message of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. He urged all staff members to perform their duties diligently.

The Deputy Commissioner further explained that the Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign employs a three-pronged strategy aimed at combating drug issues. This includes curbing the supply of drugs through the Narcotics Control Bureau and police, conducting outreach and awareness initiatives, and reducing the demand for drugs. He emphasized that it is time for the fight against drugs to evolve into a mass movement focused on making Punjab, particularly Ludhiana, drug-free.
