Lord Jagannath rath Yatra in Kapurthala

The entire city residents irrespective of caste ,creed and religion converged on city roads to participate in the 3rd Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra which passed through the main bazars here on Saturday late evening.

The Rath Yatra was organised by ISKCON branch of Kapurthala under the guidance of . Ludhiana ISKCON head Swami Narottam Anand.

The devotees from Ludhiana,Jalandhar,Hoshiarpur,Banga and even few foreign devotees participated in the Yatra .

ISKCN Kapurthala branch coordinator Neeraj Aggarwal told that there were 22 jhankis depicting life of Jagannath were part of Rath Yatra.

The women devotees in colourful dresses performed Gurba,Dandia,Umbrella dance to express their devotion towards Lord Jagannath.

The Rath Yatra was full of dance ,Devotional songs and devotees were beaming with joys.

The entire city was charged with devotion and spiritualism.

Cold water shabeels and community kitchen were organised by social and voluntary organisations.

Despite humidity residents waited for more than three hours on roads to watch the Rath Yatra and paid obeisance to Lord Jagannath.

The city was decorated with flowers and decorated lights to welcome Yatra.

The Yatra which started from Rani Sahiba temple culminated after passing through Satnarain Bazar ,Main Sadar Bazar and Jallokhana .It took more than five hours to pass the Rath Yatra in the city.

At Satnarain temple Yatra was welcomed by temple devotees led by temple Sewadar Naresh kumar by showering flowers and offering fruits .

The leaders of all political parties including AAP leaders Parwinder Singh Dhot,BJP district President Ranjit Singh Khojewal participated in the Yatra .Kapurthala MLA Rana Gurjit Singh and congress workers greeted people with their participation .
