Langar committees, social organizations should cooperate with district administration to make Mata Chintapurni fair smooth: Bram Shankar Jimpa

MLA held a meeting with administrative officers, langar committees and representatives of social organizations

Gave instructions to the Public Works Department, Corporation to immediately fill the potholes on the roads leading to Mata Chintapurni Road

Hoshiarpur, July 24: MLA Bram Shankar Jimpa held a meeting with administrative officers, langar committees and representatives of social organizations in the District Administrative Complex today regarding the arrangements for the Mata Chintapurni fair starting from July 25. During this, Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain, SSP Sandeep Kumar Malik and Mayor Surinder Kumar were also present with him.

Addressing the meeting, MLA Bram Shankar Jimpa directed all the departments to make the arrangements of the fair smooth. He said that there should be no shortage of any kind on the part of the administration regarding the preparations for the fair. He said that without the cooperation of langar committees and social organizations, the arrangements of Mata Chintapurni fair cannot be run smoothly. Therefore, there is a special need for the cooperation of langar committees and social organizations.

Bram Shankar Jimpa said that the district administration is doing a very commendable job to make the langars free from single-use plastic during the fair. He said that in the fair, the district administration, with the cooperation of Municipal Corporation and Pollution Control Board, will provide environment-friendly plates, glasses and spoons worth about Rs 5 lakh to those langar societies who are unknowingly using single-use plastic. He appealed to all the langar societies not to use single-use plastic. The MLA said that while setting up langar in Mata Chintapurni fair, it should also be ensured that cleanliness is maintained so that the environment does not get polluted. He said that mutual coordination between the district administration and the organizations is very important so that the fair can be successfully conducted with joint efforts. He also appealed that for smooth traffic, the organizations should not come on the road and distribute langar. He instructed the officials of Public Works Department and Municipal Corporation to immediately fill the potholes on the roads leading to Mata Chintapurni so that the devotees do not face any problem.

The Deputy Commissioner appealed to the langar committees and said that some preparations have been made by the district administration to make the system smooth, in which the cooperation of langar committees is very important. He said that the langar committees must apply to the SDM office for setting up langar and loud speakers so that the administration can know which committee has set up langar where. By doing this, in case of traffic problems or any other kind of problem, the concerned officials can directly contact the langar committee. He also appealed to the devotees not to come in vehicles carrying loads.

S.S.P. Sandeep Kumar Malik said that the langar committees should cooperate in making the traffic system smooth. He said that the officers and employees of the district police will remain deployed on Chintpurni Road 24 hours a day so that the devotees do not face any problem. He said that work will be done in coordination with the langar committees for traffic and security.

Mayor Surinder Kumar said that the Municipal Corporation will leave no stone unturned regarding the cleanliness system. The potholes on the roads under the fire brigade and the corporation will also be filled immediately. ADC (Development) Nikas Kumar, ADC (General) Amarbir Kaur Bhullar, Assistant Commissioner Oashi Mandal, SP Dr. Mukesh Kumar, SP Navneet Kaur Gill, SDM Hoshiarpur Gursimranjit Kaur, RTO were present on the occasion. Apart from Amandeep Kaur Ghuman, DSP Palwinder Singh, Joint Commissioner Municipal Corporation Sandeep Tiwari, representatives of langar committees and social organizations, Krishna Gopal Anand, Bharat Bhushan Verma, Anit Nayyar, Mandeep Sharma, Pramod Sharma, Ashwani Sharma and officers from various departments, representatives of social organizations and langar committees were also present.
