Chandigarh, July 3

Kewal Dhillon, State Vice President and State Core Committee member of BJP Punjab, strongly criticized the recent speech by Rahul Gandhi in Parliament, during a press conference held at the BJP Punjab office in Sector 37, Chandigarh on Tuesday.

Dhillon expressed his disappointment over Gandhi’s remarks, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the decorum and integrity of the parliamentary proceedings.

“Rahul Gandhi seemed to forget that he was not on an election stage but delivering his first speech as the opposition leader in Parliament,” stated Dhillon.

“The opposition leader holds a crucial responsibility in ensuring the country’s development and growth by presenting true facts. However, Gandhi’s speech was filled with falsehoods, disappointment, and baseless claims. There is no space for discrimination based on religion in Parliament, but Gandhi’s words have harmed the country’s integrity and unity.

Dhillon highlighted that Gandhi’s behavior during his address did not align with the expected parliamentary decorum. The presiding officer had to repeatedly remind him not to argue or turn his back towards the Speaker, as per the rules, an MP should not turn their back to the presiding officer while speaking in the House.

Questioning Gandhi’s actions, Dhillon said, “We failed to understand why Gandhi had to present pictures of God in Parliament. He either failed to understand Congress’ message or was perturbed by Congress’ third consecutive defeat in general elections.”

Concluding the conference, Dhillon said, “We, the people of Punjab, and leaders of BJP, condemn Gandhi’s speech which was not only filled with falsehoods but also blatant disrespect for the decorum of the House. We also demand a public apology from Gandhi.”

The people of India will not forget the disrespect Gandhi displayed, and he must present true and accurate facts in Parliament from now on.
