Inaugural session of 18th Lok Sabha to take off from June 24

New Delhi, June 11

The inaugural session of the 18th Lok Sabha is set to commence on June 24, with the newly elected members anticipated to take their oaths during the initial two days, according to informed sources on Tuesday.

Veteran Bharatiya Janata Party lawmaker and former Union minister Radha Mohan Singh, securing re-election for the seventh term, is poised to be appointed as the pro tem Speaker on the third day of the session.

The House is slated to receive the President’s address on June 27, followed by the presentation of the economic survey on July 3.

The comprehensive budget is scheduled for presentation on July 22. Earlier this year, an interim Budget was unveiled on February 1, preceding the Lok Sabha elections held this summer.

PM Modi is heading NDA coalition after it could not muster the majority mark of 272 in a House of 545, While NDA did come to power for the third time in a row, however, with a much-reduced number.
