In light of the forecast for rains, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal has directed the concerned officials to ensure proper arrangements for tarpaulins in the Mandis. He emphasized that no effort should be spared in protecting the farmers’ crops from rain and that any negligence in this regard will not be tolerated.
Dr. Aggarwal stated that the availability of necessary tarpaulins must be ensured in advance so that the heaps of food grains arriving in the mandis can be safeguarded from any potential damage.
He instructed the officials to make all necessary arrangements for the convenience of farmers and to prioritize the provision of tarpaulins and other essentials in every Mandi.
Reiterating the Punjab Government’s commitment under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to conduct the wheat procurement season efficiently, Dr. Aggarwal said that the district administration would ensure that farmers bringing their produce to the Mandis do not face any kind of inconvenience. He added that the administration’s top priority is to ensure that the entire procurement process is completed smoothly and without any hindrance.
