Congress will stand like a rock behind its leaders: Balbir Singh Sidhu.
Former Health Minister and senior Congress leader Balbir Singh Sidhu has strongly condemned the Enforcement Directorate’s chargesheet against Smt Sonia Gandhi and Shri Rahul Gandhi, calling it a “fake and politically motivated document” aimed at tarnishing the image of the Congress party.
Sidhu said, “The BJP-led central government is blatantly misusing institutions like the ED and CBI to target political opponents. These actions reflect the authoritarian mindset of the Modi government. But let me make it absolutely clear the Congress party is not afraid of these dirty tricks. We stand firmly and united behind our leaders, Smt. Sonia Gandhi ji and Shri Rahul Gandhi ji.”
Lashing out at what he called the “dictatorial attitude” of the BJP, Sidhu added, “The Modi government is afraid of Shri Rahul Gandhi’s growing influence and the Congress party’s resurgence. That is why they are resorting to such desperate tactics. But no matter how hard they try, they will never be able to bring the Congress party down.”
He also took a dig at both the BJP and the AAP governments, accusing them of running vendetta politics. “Earlier, the AAP government in Punjab registered a fake FIR against our Leader of Opposition S. Partap Singh Bajwa, and now the BJP has followed suit by filing a fake chargesheet against our top national leaders. These coordinated attacks will not break our resolve,” he said.
Sidhu further stated, “The Congress party has served this country for decades and will continue to do so. We will fight the Modi government’s anti-democratic policies till the very end.”
Demanding that both the central and Punjab governments focus on governance rather than vendetta, Sidhu said, “Instead of filing fake FIRs and baseless chargesheets against Shri Rahul Gandhi, Smt. Sonia Gandhi, and Partap Singh Bajwa, the BJP and AAP governments should focus on addressing the real issues of the people.”
