Patiala, July 24: Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh today visited Government Rajindra Hospital and interacted with the admitted patients and patients who came to get medicine in the OPD and took feedback on the health services being provided in the hospital. On this occasion, taking serious note of the fight that took place in the hospital recently with a patient admitted by outsiders, he said in strong words that any kind of fight will not be tolerated in the hospital. He said that the culprits of the recent brawl were arrested on the spot by the hospital and police administration, showing promptness.
Dr. Balbir Singh said that one should refrain from speaking loudly inside the hospital, but fighting by some people is highly condemnable. He said that strict action will be taken against such people and such people will not go out of the hospital for spoiling the atmosphere but will go straight to jail. Appealing to the people, he said that they should come to the hospital for treatment, but any attempt to spoil the atmosphere by coming to the hospital will not be tolerated.
On this occasion, the Health Minister visited various wards including the emergency ward of the Government Rajindra Hospital and took feedback from the admitted patients about the health facilities being provided in the hospital and said that the medicines are being given to the patients admitted in the hospital from the hospital itself and if anyone asks to bring medicines from outside, then this can be informed to the Medical Superintendent or directly to the Health Minister. Dr. Balbir Singh, while visiting the OPD of Government Rajindra Hospital, said that now there are counters for registration of OPD along with timers and chairs for patients to sit, drinking water and bathroom facilities, now patients do not have to stand in long queues for their turn, but they can get their registration done in turn.
