Services of guest teachers covered under Haryana Guest Teachers Services Act, 2019: Kanwar Pal

Haryana School Education Minister Kanwar Pal said that the services of guest teachers are covered under the Haryana Guest Teachers Services Act, 2019.

According to the Act, the guest teachers working before the date of enactment of this Act will continue to work in the department till the age of retirement, irrespective of their method of appointment or period of service.

Kanwar Pal said this in reply to a question raised by Sonipat MLA Surender Panwar during the winter session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha here today.

He said that initially the guest teachers were appointed in the year 2005 on the basis of agreement for a specific period i.e. as per the requirement or against the sanctioned vacant posts till the appointment of the regular teacher and the honorarium of the guest teachers was fixed on the basis of the period.

After this, their agreements were renewed and their honorarium was increased from time to time on the basis of need.

School Education Minister said that guest teachers were considered as contractual teachers from April 1, 2009 and their honorarium was also fixed on monthly basis, after that the contract of guest teachers was extended year after year and their honorarium was also increased from time to time.
