Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala said that land is being identified for an alternative to railway over bridge at Asawata railway crossing in the Palwal area. Once suitable land is identified, either a railway overbridge or another viable alternative will be constructed.

Dushyant Chautala provided this information in response to a question raised by a member of the House during the winter session of the Vidhan Sabha Session here today.

He acknowledged the challenges faced by the residents of many villages in the Palwal area who have to pass through Asawata railway crossing. The heavy railway traffic often causes traffic jams, leading to significant difficulties for the local population.

Despite considerable efforts, the construction of a Railway Overbridge has proven challenging due to limited Right of Way (ROW). Additionally, the dense population on both sides of the road makes land acquisition impractical.

The Department is considering the appointment of a structural consultant to explore suitable options. Land is actively being sought for an alternative to the Railway Overbridge, and once appropriate land is identified, construction of a Railway Overbridge or an alternative solution will commence.

Dushyant Chautala was replying to a question asked by member of the House during the winter session of the Vidhan Sabha Session here today.

The Deputy Chief Minister further said that the road from Samana Mandi to the Haryana border suffered damage in July 2023 due to floods. The Defect Liability Period (DLP) for this road had expired in February 2020.

Special repair work was assigned on June 20, 2023; however, the road sustained further damage during construction amid the floods in July 2023. Administrative approval for the strengthening this road will be issued in the next week.
