Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Animal Husbandry Minister, J. P Dalal with a delegation met Deputy Governor of Kochi Prefectural Government of Japan Mr. Inoue Hiroyuki today and took information about advanced agricultural technologies. The delegation also visited the market in Kochi and held a meeting with the officers in charge so that the farmers of Haryana could get the benefit of new technologies in the field of horticulture, vegetable production and agriculture.
The Agriculture Minister said that Haryana will use new advanced technologies under Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) project for transfer of technologies. Briefing about the visit to Japan, J.P Dalal informed that Kochi has very advanced agricultural technologies and uses Internet of Plants for environment controlled technologies using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT). This technology puts the main focus on the entire value chain in Japan with high-value crops, Japanese ginger and processing. To understand the modern infrastructure system, operational modalities and support mechanism, Additional Chief Secretary Sudhir Rajpal, Deputy Principal Secretary to Chief Minister K. M Pandurang, Director General of Horticulture Dr. Arjun Singh Saini and Other officials of the delegation took detailed information about the crops and technologies of Japan.
J.P Dalal stated that Kochi possesses agro technology with high-value crops, Japanese ginger, and processing, with an emphasis on the full value chain. Haryana will adopt new advanced technologies under the JICA programme for technology transfer, and the Kochi Prefectural Government provides assistance to farmers.
