Cow vigilante Bittu Bajrangi, who is out on bail after being arrested in connection with 2023 Nuh riots, has been booked by Faridabad police for brutally thrashing a man in a video.
The action comes after a video went viral on April 01 as Bajrangi was caught on camera beating up a man with a stick as others from his cow vigilante group pin him down. In the video, a policeman is seen standing there as a mute spectator.
The victim in the video has been identified as Shyam who allegedly was caught by Bajrangi’s group while trying to molest a minor girl after offering her a chocolate, it is reported. The police is searching for Shyam, as he is absconding, while a case is being registered against him under POCSO Act.
Police officials said that the video is from April 1 and the man who has been thrashed is a resident of Faridabad’s Sarurpur. The man was caught by neighbours while taking the girl inside his room.
News of the incident spread and members of Bajrangi’s cow vigilante group, Goraksha Bajrang Force, reached the spot and took Shyam with them to their leader’s house.
They then started video graphing the incident. The video shows Bajrangi thrashing him with a stick. A policeman is seen sitting on a chair inches from the man and he gets up, but does nothing to intervene.
