The Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal today said that Haryana is embracing the digital wave to ensure transparency and efficiency in its PM Gati Shakti implementation. The state has uploaded a whopping 271 data layers on the PM Gati Shakti portal by 26 departments.
While presiding over the 3rd Empowerment Group of Secretaries meeting under PM-Gati Shakti here today, Kaushal said that regular meetings under the State Monitoring Program (SMP) demonstrate the state’s commitment to sustained progress and ensure that the PM Gati Shakti initiative continues to deliver tangible results, he added
Kaushal said that Invest India’s latest report reveals a substantial surge in Haryana’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP), projecting an increase of over 16% compared to the previous fiscal year. This translates to a staggering US$ 140 Billion (Rs. 11,65,985 crore), a significant leap from the previous year’s US$ 120.44 Billion (Rs.9,94195).
Streamlining Approvals for Faster Progress
. Kaushal said that the state envisions streamlining the approval process for large-scale infrastructure projects, replicating successful structures, and fostering continued collaboration among departments.
The commitment to optimize the PM Gati Shakti portal for the benefit of the state’s development remains a top priority. A mechanism at state level has been established to approve all the infrastructure projects costing more than 100 crores from Network Planning Group (NPG), Empowered Group of Secretaries (EGOS).
Infrastructure Focus: Building a Robust Backbone
He said that the state is actively leveraging the PM Gati Shakti portal to optimize project management and ensure seamless coordination between departments. The focus is not just on approvals; it’s on execution. Departmental workshops, nodal officer training, and the proposed PPC-mirroring structure are all geared towards efficient project implementation.
Draft State Logistics Policy 2023: Charting the Path Forward
Recognizing the critical role of logistics in economic growth, Haryana is finalizing the Draft State Logistics Policy 2023. This policy prioritizes infrastructure development, digital tools, and a robust regulatory framework, paving the way for the creation of 5 logistics parks with an investment of Rs. 10,000 Crore.
This ambitious plan is expected to generate 25,000 new jobs, particularly in major towns, while simultaneously fostering skill development initiatives, he added.
Driving Practical Applications
Kaushal said that the Haryana has successfully implemented two impactful use cases on the portal, positioning itself as a top achiever in LEADS 2022 and 2023, especially notable for its landlocked status.
The state’s achievements in the implementation of the Business Reforms Action Plan (BRAP) for the years 2020 and 2022 reflect its commitment to practical applications.
Taking to the Skies: The Integrated Aviation Hub
Kaushal further said that Haryana is not just looking at land-based infrastructure; it’s also taking to the skies. The development of an Integrated Aviation Hub in Hisar showcases the state’s commitment to diversifying its economic portfolio and capitalizing on its strategic location in the evolving logistics and retail sectors.
Additional Chief Secretary, (ACS), Finance, Anurag Rastogi, ACS, Industries and Commerce, Anand Mohan Sharan and other senior officers were also present in the meeting.
