Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal, while addressing the Jan Samvad programme at village Balaha Kalan in Mahendragarh district on Wednesday stated that preparations are being made to ensure that basic amenities and services reach the doorsteps of the people. Notably, this is the fifth Jan Samvad programme.
“In the last eight and a half years, unprecedented effort has been done to provide water to the tail end in southern Haryana, and during the present state government’s tenure constant efforts have been made to eliminate the water crisis situation in southern Haryana,” he added.
MP, Sh. Dharambir Singh and MLA Nangal Chaudhary, Dr Abhe Singh Yadav gave a warm welcome to the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister said that the district administration has taken laudable strides in the direction of water conservation. In an appeal to the locals, Sh. Manohar Lal stated that everyone should store water in order to boost the water level. He informed the residents that a canal would be built as needed in the region to alleviate the water situation.
Sh. Manohar Lal also shared the state government’s plan to build a four-kilometre canal, provided if the villagers of Goad, Balaha Kalan, and Khurd agree upon making the land available. He also issued directions to the officers concerned to find a permanent solution to the water problem in the Nalwati region.
Taking note of the issue regarding the distribution of less quantity of ration being given by ration depot holders, the Chief Minister directed the DFSC to ensure monitoring of the ration depots in the district, and orders were issued to take action wherever less ration is being given by ration depot holders.
He stated that the government is completely focused on the advancement of education and that quality education is being offered to children coming from rural areas in government schools; if there is a need to update schools, schools would be upgraded in accordance with the regulations, said the Chief Minister.
He said that a new medical college is being built in the village of Khariyawas and Mahendragarh would get the medical college by next year. A logistics centre will also be established in Mahendragarh district’s Basirpur, and a new industrial sector will be developed in Khudana village, creating job possibilities.
The Chief Minister stated that transformers will be installed in the agriculture sector to provide a consistent electricity supply to the Dhanis. On the demand of the people, he also directed the Transport Department to construct busways near the highway.
Villagers should put a joint fight against drug abuse, CM
The Chief Minister said that a special campaign for drug prevention should be initiated in Mahendragarh district. Also, as this district is close to the Rajasthan border, he directed SP, Sh. Vikrant Bhushan to take action under the NDPS Act against those who were involved in this illegal drug trade.
“If someone is selling drugs in the district, it should be immediately brought to the notice of the district administration. I urge the villagers to run joint campaigns with the Gram Sabhas to tackle the social evil of drug abuse,” said Sh. Manohar Lal.
