Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Dushyant Chautala directed the officers to provide financial assistance to the flood victims as soon as possible so that they do not suffer further losses.

Apart from this, the highways and rural roads that have been eroded due to the rapid flow of water should be repaired at the earliest.

The Deputy CM, who also holds the portfolio of “Revenue and Disaster Department” and “Public Works Department”, today presided over a meeting of senior officers of both the departments.

Sh. Dushyant Chautala directed the officers that as soon as reports of loss of life, animals or collapse of houses etc. come, financial assistance should be released immediately by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department. He also said that apart from the highway, the culverts etc. built on the roads of the villages should be repaired at the earliest. This will help to ensure assistance to the affected people and also facilitate the movement on roads. He said that relief assistance of Rs. 216 crore, given by the central government, will soon be provided to the people.

Sh. Dushyant Chautala further directed the officers of the Public Works Department that at present, wherever there has been erosion in the roads due to the rapid flow of water, big strong pipes can be laid under the road so that water can pass through such pipes in future under such circumstances.
