Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday affirmed that Haryana stands in solidarity with Punjab as the neighbouring state grapples with severe floods. Relief materials are being dispatched to flood-affected districts of Punjab, he added.
Interacting with journalists, the Chief Minister said that Haryana is closely monitoring the situation following heavy rains. He emphasized that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the central and state governments are working in the interests of farmers, including providing compensation for crop losses.
CM Saini highlighted the e-Kshatipurti portal, which has registered 1,69,738 farmers from 2,897 villages covering over 9.96 lakh acres. Verification is underway, after which further action will be taken for compensation.
Targeting the Congress party, CM Saini said, “Their political ground has slipped. First, they raised questions on EVMs, then claimed the Constitution and democracy were in danger, and now they talk about vote theft. The public has understood the reality. Today, Congress is directionless and is merely searching for political space.”
The Chief Minister also cited pro-public measures under PM Modi’s leadership, including income tax rebates of up to ₹12 lakh and recent changes in GST slabs aimed at providing relief to the general public. “Both the central and state governments are committed to easing the burden on the poor and common citizens,” he added.
The press briefing was attended by Chief Principal Secretary Rajesh Khullar, Excise and Taxation Commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh, Director General of Information, Public Relations, Languages and Culture Department K. Makarand Pandurang, and Media Secretary to the Chief Minister Praveen Attrey.
