BJP government is badly exploiting employees, farmers, laborers and traders: Kumari Selja

General Secretary of All India Congress Committee, former Union Minister, member of Congress Working Committee and former President of Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee, Kumari Selja said that the BJP government at the Center has exploited every class in its 09-year tenure. Due to this, the BJP is bound to be swept out of power in the upcoming elections.

In a statement released to the media, Kumari Selja said that the farmers who produce food grains for the people of the country are being hit from all sides.

The farmers are not getting the prices of the crops and neither are they getting reliable quality fertilizers, seeds, sprays etc. Farmers’ crops have been ruined due to spurious fertilizers and pesticides, and the government has discontinued crop insurance coverage even after the banks had deducted the crop insurance premium from the farmer’s accounts and sent it to the government.

The government has done a disservice to the farmers by not issuing the crop insurance policy yet. He said that various farmer’s organizations have staged dharnas many times across the country due to the injustice being done to the farmers.

Hundreds of farmers have sacrificed their lives in the struggle for their rights but only fell on the deaf ears of the government.

The former MP said that the central government is not in favour of implementing any kind of welfare scheme in the interest of farmers instead it is implementing all the schemes for the benefit of the capitalists. It is encouraging capitalists by waiving their bank loans worth crores of rupees.

Kumari Selja, speaking for the farmers, said that gross injustice is being done to the farmers by not waiving off any kind of loan in the event of the farmers’ crops being destroyed due to natural calamities and spurious fertilizer & seeds.

The former Union Minister said that before the elections, the BJP had been making long claims and long and wide announcements to grab votes from the people, but after the elections, it is working to mislead the people by putting those announcements on the back burner.

The government has only been playing MSP-MSP with the farmers till date. Some crops have been implemented but the farmers are not getting it. The government procurement agency is arbitrary in the procurement in the end crops are sold to private agencies which buy the crops at an arbitrarily lower price, thus the farmers are hit from both sides.

He said that only capitalists and industrialists are happy during the tenure of the BJP government. Farmers, labourers and workers of the country are in big trouble due to the new policies of the government.

He said that the oppressive policies of the central government have now been understood by the general public, so in the upcoming elections, BJP’s supremacy will be wiped out in the country and the state.

He said that Congress is getting a clear majority in five states of the country. After this, the people will defeat the JJP-BJP coalition government of the state in the elections to be held in Haryana.
