Abundant employment opportunities in Haryana’s tourism and hotel sector: CM Khattar

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, while highlighting the significant contribution of tourism in the economy, said that there is substantial scope for entrepreneurship within the tourism sector.

He made these remarks while inaugurating the OYO Accelerator program in Gurugram on Sunday. Commending the Aarambh Accelerator program initiated by OYO to foster new entrepreneurs, he expressed confidence that this initiative would effectively promote and support budding entrepreneurs.

Manohar Lal said that there are immense employment opportunities in the hotel business. It does not take long for any small work to become big, the government is continuously making efforts to ensure that the young generation moves forward with zeal and enthusiasm, employment opportunities continue to be available to the youth. Also, the government will provide full support to those starting their own business.

He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi always encourages the youth to explore new and positive avenues. Today, the younger generation is advancing and showcasing its talent in various fields, including hotel and tourism. He observed that individuals from rural backgrounds are now significant economic contributors to the country. He extended congratulations to OYO founder Ritesh Agarwal on the auspicious occasion of the program and assured government support.

“We must progress by exploring new ideas and options. The government’s primary objective is to foster young entrepreneurs in partnership with private institutions,” he stated. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the world witnessed a challenging period. Today, as we emerge from the crisis, both the country and the state are swiftly progressing on the path of development.

The Chief Minister remarked on the continuous growth of tourism in both the country and the state. He attributed this progress to the strong leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and initiatives such as Startup India, which have ignited enthusiasm among the youth, prompting them to embark on entrepreneurial ventures.

Highlighting Haryana’s significant contribution to India’s startup ecosystem, he noted the transparent employment opportunities available to the youth based on merit.

Furthermore, during the OYO Accelerator program, he disbursed cheques of Rs 30 lakh to Gurugram resident Babita Yadav, Rs 15 lakh to Sonipat resident Deepak Singh Rana, and Rs 10 lakh to Gurugram resident Vijay Yadav.

Welcoming Chief Minister Manohar Lal to the program, CEO of the institute, Ritesh Aggarwal, shed light on the institute’s background. He expressed that it’s an opportune time for startups in Haryana, citing the significant business OYO organization conducts in the state. He emphasized his goal of engaging Haryana’s youth in this endeavor and expressed gratitude to Chief Minister for the government’s support.

Present at the event were Gurugram Police Commissioner Vikas Arora, DC Nishant Yadav, and other dignitaries.
