11 trains cancelled, 34 affected as farmers block railway tracks near Punjab’s Shambhu border

Chandigarh, April 18

As many as 11 trains were cancelled, and 24 others were affected as the farmers union held a rail roko demonstration at the Shambhu border, demanding the release of three farmer activists who were arrested recently.

Due to the agitation, the routes of various trains were diverted. Notably, Shambhu is the gateway to Punjab from the national capital via Haryana.
