MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla met the newly appointed Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav in Delhi today. He congratulated Ashwini Vaishnav for his victory and on becoming the Railway Minister. During this, the railway projects of Amritsar were discussed. The Railway Minister also assured him that the projects will start as soon as possible.
During the meeting with the Railway Minister, MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla discussed the pending projects related to the Railway Department of Amritsar. Gurjeet Singh Aujla talked in detail about the Patti Makhu rail link project. Gurjeet Singh Aujla said that discussions were also held on the ROB and underbridge of Amritsar. The railway minister assured that soon the pending works will be completed by the Railway Department and new works will be started.
Gurjeet Singh Aujla said that he is trying his best to complete the ongoing projects of Amritsar and bring new projects and will continue to do so in future. With the help of the railway department, many new trains will also be started so that people can get facilities through public transport and they can travel long distances easily and in less budget.
While talking to the media after the meeting, Gurjeet Singh Aujla also took a dig at the expensive electricity and the frequent power cuts in Punjab. He said that as soon as the elections are over, people are being deprived of even basic facilities. Increasing the electricity rates and then reducing the supply is highly condemnable. In the scorching heat, people have only the support of electricity. That is why the Punjab government should reconsider its decision and provide facilities to the people instead of causing problems.
