MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla today met Power and Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. He demanded projects on the lines of Varanasi for Amritsar city so that Guru Nagri can be made a world class city. During this, he also discussed in detail to connect the Golden Temple to four main roads.
MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla said that like Varanasi, Amritsar is also a very important city, people of all religions have faith here and giving a project on the lines of Varanasi to this city will not only develop the city but will also increase the faith of the people.
MP Aujla said that during the meeting with Manohar Lal Khattar, he discussed the development of Amritsar. He mentioned about Tung Dhaba drain, dirty drains and other drains. He said that the colour of the gold of Sri Harimandir Sahib is fading due to the dirt and gas of these drains. Due to this, people’s health is deteriorating and people in the city are forced to live in filth. He also discussed the increasing air pollution in the city and the decreasing level of drinking water. He also gave detailed information about the city’s traffic and discussed about the ring road development outside the gates of Amritsar city so that the traffic can be diverted. During this, the problem of garbage in the city was also discussed and the role of the corporation was also talked about.
MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla said that lakhs of devotees come to the pilgrimage site Golden Temple every day, so it should be connected with four main roads. These roads should be made in a beautiful way to make a great journey. MP Gurjeet Aujla said that big projects should be given for Guru Nagri.
MP Aujla said that Urban Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has promised to give him full cooperation. He discussed with him in a very cooperative attitude and got detailed information on many projects. MP Aujla said that he hopes that his dream of making Guru Nagri a world class city will be fulfilled soon. MP Aujla said that Amritsar has immense potential and already lakhs of tourists visit here. If Guru Nagri gets better facilities and projects, then it will benefit the city as well as the entire Punjab. Many types of companies want to come here and want to expand in the coming days. That is why if the city is equipped with basic facilities, there will be all-round development. He said that Varanasi has been given excellent projects and funds by the central government and he wants similar projects for Amritsar so that Amritsar can not only develop like big cities but the coming generations do not feel hesitant to live and work here.
