Haryana Energy Minister Anil Vij directed to get solar mapping done in all the villages of the state, giving priority to farmers.
He said that the use of solar energy will help in providing cheap and sustainable energy in rural areas along with environmental protection and this will promote solar energy.
This will also reduce the problem of power cuts. For this, the minister asked officials to prepare a comprehensive action plan. He held an important meeting with the officers of the Electricity Department today.
Vij directed to implement the system of surcharge waiver and taking the outstanding amount in installments to provide relief to the consumers. He emphasized on ensuring that no consumer faces financial inconvenience. To improve the power distribution system, the minister ordered immediate upgradation of transformers and conductors in areas where it is required. To prevent incidents of power theft, Vij said that armed cable should be given priority. This step will help reduce the departmental losses and curb power theft.
Additional Chief Secretary A.K. Singh, UHBVN Managing Director Ashok Meena and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
