Punjab Finance Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema on Tuesday administered the oath of office to 1,863 newly elected Panchs from Mansa district at a district-level ceremony held at the local multi-purpose sports stadium. He emphasized the importance of honest service, urging the Panchs to perform their duties without discrimination, prioritizing village development and contributing to the state’s progress.
In his address, Finance Minister Cheema asked the Panchs to prioritize their villages’ needs, ensuring timely completion of essential developmental works. He also motivated the gathered Panchs and Sarpanches to contribute to the state’s development, leveraging their roles as grassroots leaders.
The Finance Minister lauded the district administration’s initiatives, including the construction of common toilets in 101 villages, costing Rs. 3.03 crore, the allocation of Rs. 14 crore for sewage disposal in 245 villages, and spending Rs. 52.50 crore on building toilets in approximately 35,000 houses.
Earlier, MLA Budhlada Principal Budh Ram, MLA Mansa Dr. Vijay Singla, and MLA Sardulgarh Gurpreet Singh Banawali addressed the gathering. They encouraged the Panchs to support the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led Punjab Government’s development initiatives.
Deputy Commissioner Kulwant Singh, SSP Bhagirath Singh Meena, ADC (D) Akash Bansal were also present.
