One NDPS accused died under mysterious circumstances in police custody at Sadar police station here in early hours of this morning according to police.
City Deputy Superientendent of police Deep Karan Singh confirmed the death of accused in police remand at Sadar police station . He told media persons that accused identified as Vinod kumar (20) resident of Saido Bhulana was arrested by police on March 30 following recovery of 6 grams of heroin and 25 capsules of drugs and police after registering a criminal case under NDPS act produced him in local court and judge gave a police remand of two days.
DSP said at 3:30 am in morning today his condition became deteriorated and he was immediately rushed to local civil hospital where doctors declared him brought dead .
The doctors today conducted the post-mortem of body under the supervision of Judicial Magistrate Ist class Bhawna Bharti.
Police began investigation to ascertain the cause of death .
The body of deceased was handed over to parents for cremation .
