Ludhiana, February 11
The district administration Ludhiana published the draft voter list for the elections of Zila Parishad and 13 Panchayat Samiti of district on Monday.
The final publication of the voter roll is scheduled for March 3.
Acting on the instructions of the State Election Commission and District Election Officer Jitendra Jorwal, the programme for correction and update of voter details has also been released.
The date for filing claims and objections would be from February 11 to 18. The claims and objections received would be processed by February 27, with the final publication of the updated voter roll set for March 3.
The panchayat samitis are Dehlon, Doraha, Pakhowal, Sudhar, Sidhwan Bet, Jagraon, Raikot, Samrala, Machhiwara Sahib, Maloud, Khanna, Ludhiana-1 and Ludhiana-2.
Special camps will be held at rural polling booths for two days, on February 14 and 15, to ensure the smooth execution of the improvement process.
He also said that the qualifying date for getting registered as a voter is March 1, 2025, meaning that any person who is turning 18 on or before March 1, 2025, is eligible to be enrolled as voter provided she/he submits her/his application between February 11-18 with the concerned BLO or ERO.
