On the auspicious occasion of the commencement of the Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Memorial in Lohgarh, Haryana, Desh Bhagat University made a significant contribution to support this historic initiative, led by the Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Memorial Foundation Trust. Desh Bhagat University Supports Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Memorial with a Generous Contribution of 11 lakhs.
The memorial, being developed under the guidance of the Foundation Trust, aims to honor the unmatched bravery and sacrifices of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur a revered Sikh warrior and leader who established the first sovereign Sikh rule in India. The Trust is committed to preserving and promoting the legacy of this iconic historical figure through the development of this grand memorial.
In support of this noble cause, Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University; Dr (Er) Sandeep Singh, President, Desh Bhagat University; Mr. Arun Malik, Director of International Affairs; and Dr. Baldeep Singh, Assistant Professor, Desh Bhagat University, presented a cheque of Rs. 11 lakh. The cheque was formally handed over to Hon’ble Shri Manohar Lal Khattar, Minister of Power, Housing and Urban Development, Government of India, in the presence of Dr. Prabhleen Singh, Officer on Special Duty, Haryana Government, at Haryana Niwas Chandigarh, who is closely associated with the Memorial Foundation Trust.
During the ceremony, Shri Manohar Lal Khattar applauded the contribution and praised Dr. Zora Singh for his outstanding service in the field of education and social upliftment. He also commended Desh Bhagat University’s commitment to preserving India’s rich historical and cultural heritage. The university’s gesture stands as a testament to its values of service, history, and education-reinforcing its role as a key partner in national and cultural development.
