Desh Bhagat University and IMA celebrates Lohri with vibrant cultural fervor

Desh Bhagat University (DBU), in a vibrant collaboration with the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Chandigarh, celebrated the traditional Lohri Festival with great enthusiasm and cultural fervor. The event was a magnificent showcase of Punjabi heritage, marked by colorful performances and the presence of esteemed guests.

Cultural Performances by DBU Students was The highlight of the evening. Dressed in colorful traditional attire, the students showcased a variety of Punjabi folk dances including the electrifying Bhangra and graceful Gidha.

Engaging Contributions by DB Radio RJs Adding to the festive atmosphere, the Radio Jockeys Rahul and Mili from Desh Bhagat Radio delivered entertaining and interactive performances.

Distinguished Guests of Honor the event was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, and Dr. Tajinder Kaur, Pro-Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University and Dr Pawan Kumar Bansal President IMA. Dignitaries extended their greetings to the gathering and expressed their pride in hosting such a culturally enriching event. Their speeches emphasized the importance of preserving cultural traditions while fostering a sense of community and togetherness.

In the Welcome Address, Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Vice President of DBU, extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries and attendees, expressing heartfelt gratitude for their presence. His words set the tone for the evening, highlighting the university’s commitment to cultural preservation and educational excellence.

On this occasion, Ajay Chagti , IAS, Secretary Medical Education & Research UT Chandigarh, Amandeep Singh Bhatti , ADC UT Chandigarh, Dr. Munish Bansal, Director General Health services Haryana were felicitated for guest of honour of the event.

Honoring Prominent Personalities The program concluded with a ceremony where Dr. Zora Singh and Dr. Tajinder Kaur honored the prominent personalities in attendance, recognizing their contributions and support for the event.

The event also saw the presence of prominent personalities, including Dr. Sandeep Singh, Worthy President of DBU; Dr. Pawan Kumar Bansal, President of IMA; Dr. Nirmal Bhasin, Secretary of IMA; Rajesh Ranjan Zonal manager BOI and Dr. Surjit Kaur Patheja, Director of Media at DBU. Their participation underscored the collaborative spirit between the university and the Indian Medical Association.
