Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal reviewed the status of various schemes of Ludhiana Improvement Trust (LIT) under the locally displaced persons (LDP) category on Monday.
Accompanied by LIT Chairman Tarsem Singh Bhinder and District Revenue Officer Ankita Aggawal, Jorwal, who is chairman of the committee, held detailed discussions on several cases falling under the same category and checked their current status.
The Deputy Commissioner also instructed the officials of Ludhiana Improvement Trust to ensure a fair and transparent allotment process to avoid any difficulties for the applicants.
The development schemes included BRS Nagar, Model Town Extension, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Kitchloo Nagar, Maharishi Balmiki Nagar, and others.
A committee, headed by the Deputy Commissioner and constituted by the Punjab government, has been tasked with efficiently handling the cases of LDP/alternative plots of the improvement trust. This committee is responsible for reviewing the resolutions passed regarding the cases of LDP/alternative plots of the trust and will approve or reject them based on the rules, laws, and directions of the state government.
