Former MP and senior Congress leader from Chandigarh, Pawan Kumar Bansal, has strongly criticized the BJP on the issue of the rising stray dog menace in Chandigarh.

Pawan Bansal said that in Manimajra, a woman was attacked by five dogs, before that, in December, a panicked attack by a dog resulted in the death of a girl in Manimajra. The fear of stray dogs is so much in the entire city that people are afraid to leave their homes.

“In the last 4 years, more than 42,000 cases of dog bites have been reported, and more than 10,000 cases were reported just last year. What is BJP doing? Where is the government sleeping, which doesn’t even seem to notice the troubles of the people in the city?”

Bansal said that the honorable High Court had also issued directions to provide financial assistance in this matter, but it is necessary to solve this problem from the root, but BJP seems to be too busy conspiring against its opponents, how will it think about the city?”
