Kirron Kher lays foundation stones of two projects at Chandigarh

Member Parliament, Chandigarh Kirron Kher laid the foundation stone of Development of Green belt at Sector 50 A & B, and foot bridge connecting passage to Faidan here on Thursday in the presence of Anup Gupta, city Mayor, Ms. Anindita Mitra, IAS, Commissioner, Kanwarjeet Singh, Senior Deputy Mayor, Rajinder Sharma, area councilor, other councillors and officers of MCC and local residents of the area.

While addressing the gathering, the MP appreciated the work done by the Municipal Corporation and said this beautiful green belt would be beneficial for all people, including young, old and children. She also congratulated the councillors and MC team of engineers for developing various projects for the benefits of city residents.

Mayor Anup Gupta said the Municipal Corporation was providing the facility of green belts in each sector city beautiful regularly. He informed about the main features of the green belt having total area 4.38 acre.

The Mayor also listed various major projects started by the Municipal Corporation, including the road repair works and sanitation programmes under the Swachh Bharat Mission. He said that the green belt will be completed at a cost of Rs. 69.49 lacs in six months time period.

She also laid foundation stone of foot bridge over N-choe, connecting passage to Faidan village from the city.

She said that this foot bridge will facilitate thousands of people of village faidan. She said that the earlier provided bridge was damaged due to recent rains and now with the provision of new bridge it will be a big relief to the local residents.
