Integrated cargo complex operationalized today at Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport Chandigarh

An integrated cargo complex with total area of 2400 sqmtr and 05 sheds has been operationalized today at Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport Chandigarh.

The main features of Integrated Cargo Complex are as follows:-

1. The 4 nos. of cargo sheds are constructed through Galvalume Pre-painted self supported roofing having total covered area 1976 sqm.

2. Pre-fabricated perishable cargo-01 no of area 420 sqm.

3. Cargo complex is equipped with all the latest equipment viz. Cold Room, Reefer van, Fork lifts, Scissors lift, Pallets, User friendly weighing scale, Trolleys etc. for smooth and seamless functioning.

4. Also equipped with High security equipment like CCTV, DFMD, ETD and X-Ray machines etc.

5. This cargo complex will handle domestic cargo only. Handling of international cargo will begin after getting clearance from Customs is received.

6. The Chandigarh International Airport is the only airport in Northern India after Delhi with 2500 MT Cargo facility.

7. The tentative overall cost of project is Rs. 12.45 cr.

RA status has been granted by BCAS to cargo operations at Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport Chandigarh on 7th June 2023.
