Heavy rain alert issued for Chandigarh, Mohali, and Panchkula: Admin urges caution

The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rainfall warning for the Tricity region of Chandigarh, Mohali, and Panchkula over the next few hours. According to the forecast, the area is likely to experience strong and continuous downpours.

In view of the warning, the administration has advised people to remain indoors for their safety and avoid venturing out unless absolutely necessary. Officials have cautioned that waterlogging in low-lying areas and traffic disruptions are likely, which could severely affect normal life.

Authorities said all necessary preparations have been completed to handle any emergency situation. Relief and rescue teams have been put on standby to ensure immediate response if required.
