Chandigarh Mayoral Election: HC issues notice to administration, seek reply within 3 weeks

Chandigarh, January 31

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has sought response from the Chandigarh UT administration and the Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh on a plea filed by on a plea filed by AAP Councillor Kuldeep Kumar, alleging vote tampering in the Mayor Elections.

In the petition filed by the councilor of AAP and Congress, the alliance has demanded re-election.

The petition demands cancellation of the mayoral election process, sealing of all records related to the election, ban on the assumption of office of the mayor, an investigation into the rigging of the entire election process and fresh elections under supervision.
