For efficient and effective removal of construction and demolition (C&D) waste and making the city more sustainable and eco-friendly, the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh has included 3 chota haathi tippers in its fleet of Solid Waste Management transport system.
Anup Gupta, Mayor, Chandigarh today flagged off the 3 vehicles, purchased at a cost of Rs. 28 lacs from MCC office premises, Sector 17, here today in the presence of Ms. Anindita Mitra, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh.
While speaking on the occasion, the Mayor said that these vehicles have been deployed with the three Executive Engineers for further disposal of removal C&D waste from their respective areas. He said that these vehicles are small in size and will work as small tippers to easily lift debris from the open spaces, road sides and even cross from the small streets.
