Chandigarh: Mayor and Secretary Local Government flag off 2 hi-tech aerated foam fire tenders

To enhance the emergency response preparedness of the Fire & Rescue Services Department, the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh has included 2 hi-tech aerated foam fire tenders in its fire fighting vehicle fleet.

City Mayor, Anup Gupta and Secretary Local Government, Nitin Yadav IAS, flagged off these two aerated foam fire tenders at Fire Station, Sector 17, here today in the presence of Ms. Anindita Mitra, IAS, Commissioner, Gurinder Singh Sodhi, Joint Commissioner-cum-Chief Fire Officer, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh and other senior officers of MCC.

While speaking on the occasion, the Mayor said that these vehicles are equipped with foam-making machines, enabling them to tackle ordinary and chemical/oil fires effectively. He said that to further bolster the fire services across the city, the MCC has allocated Rs. 11 crores for the purchase of additional fire equipments for the last two years.
