Addressing the gathering Pawan Bansal former union minister and treasurer of AICC said that the recent expose by Satpal Pal Malik, former governor of Jammu and Kashmir and a senior leader of the BJP, has shocked the people of the country.
The former governor of Jammu and Kashmir stated in an interview that the Prime Minister had told him to refrain from speaking out about the failures of the government, which led to the unfortunate killing of CRPF soldiers in Pulwama in February 2019.
Alleging that the Modi government has failed to manage the economy of the country, Bansal stated that its policies of crony capitalism are creating unprecedented economic inequalities in the country and the only job the government is doing at present is to manage certain events in the country to divert the attention of the people from its all-round failures.
Accusing the government of weakening all democratic institutions in the country Bansal alleged that the senior leaders and Ministers of the BJP government have been making undesirable statements against the Judiciary with a sinister design to put pressure on the judiciary.
Bansal accused the government of unfairly targetting Rahul Gandhi just because he is asking tough questions and exposing the misdeeds and corruption of the Modi government.
Stating that the two-year sentence awarded to Rahul Gandhi was unprecedented and harsh, Bansal accused the Modi government of showing unnecessary hurry in sending him the notice to vacate his official residence. This shows the mindset of the government toward the leader of the opposition, Bansal added.
Speaking on the occasion H.S Lucky president of Chandigarh Congress, accused the Modi government of helping Adani and other friends of Modi to earn huge profits at the cost of the common man, and small and medium businesses.
The Modi government is making false promises like a bullet train just to divert people’s attention. Lucky further alleged that the Modi government has been ruthlessly misusing Central agencies against its political opponents and weakening the democratic institutions of the country.
He stated that Chandigarh Congress will continue its protest till the BJP and its government in Delhi do not stop attacking and insulting the constitution of the country and protecting the corrupt.
Meanwhile, Lucky declared that the party is planning to call an all-party meeting of like-minded political parties to discuss the serious political situation in the country and city caused by the anti-people and anti-democratic policies of the Modi government.
