Chandigarh, April 2
Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader and former party president Sukhbir Singh Badal has strongly criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led Punjab government for withdrawing the security cover of former minister Bikram Singh Majithia.
Badal termed the move a “dangerous and deadly design” aimed at targeting SAD leadership.
Badal linked the withdrawal of security to what he called a “massive witch-hunt” against Majithia, alleging that the AAP government was trying to falsely implicate him in drug-related cases. He also pointed out that Arvind Kejriwal had previously apologized in writing for making false allegations against Majithia on the drug issue.
Withdrawal of the entire Z+ security cover of Bikram Singh Majithia confirms beyond doubt the dangerous and deadly designs of the @AamAadmiParty govt against the @Akali_Dal_ leadership.
This decision has to be seen alongside the massive witch-hunt launched by the AAP govt… pic.twitter.com/NHVkGHkd6c— Sukhbir Singh Badal (@officeofssbadal) April 1, 2025
