Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Punjab organized a high-level interactive session today with Sanjeev Arora, Minister for Industries, Commerce, Investment Promotion & NRI Affairs, Government of Punjab, at the CII Northern Region Headquarters, Chandigarh. The session witnessed participation from leading industry stakeholders and senior government officials.

Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora, in his keynote address, reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to fostering a progressive industrial ecosystem in Punjab and invited industry feedback and collaboration to strengthen policy implementation. “We are here to listen, respond, and work hand-in-hand with the industry to position Punjab as a leading investment destination,” the Minister stated.

“Punjab is focused on building a business-ready environment where policy meets execution and investors feel confident in our long-term vision,” said Sanjeev Arora. Industrialists appreciated the  decision of the Punjab Government for constituting sectoral specific committees for making further improvements in the industrial policy and ease of doing business. Industrialists have also lauded the previous decision taken by the government of Punjab such as One Time Settlement Scheme and leasehold to freehold industrial plots etc and also demanded to open Air Cargo facility in Punjab. Sanjeev Arora assured the industrialists that he will make sincere efforts to open an Air Cargo facility in Punjab.

Responding to a question, Sanjeev Arora said that competent authority for buildings outside municipal limits is unnecessary, as the Stability Certificate issued by the Department of Factories—after thorough structural verification—serves the same purpose and should be deemed sufficient.  The State Government assured to look into this.

Furthermore, he added that the Government of Punjab is in the process of building convention centres at Mohali, Ludhiana and Amritsar and has launched an online CRO which will be provided within 15 working days.

Amit Jain, Chairman, CII Punjab and Managing Director, Shingora Textiles Pvt Ltd, welcomed the dignitaries and highlighted CII’s role in facilitating industry-government dialogue. The session featured key addresses by Mr Amit Dhaka, CEO, Invest Punjab who shared the Government’s ongoing initiatives to boost industrial growth and enhance ease of doing business in the state.

The Open House that followed enabled members to directly share their inputs, challenges, and suggestions with the Minister and senior officials. Members suggested that labour colonies be considered for incentives under the industrial policy.

The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Harpreet Singh Nibber, Vice Chairman, CII Punjab and CMD, Pritika Industries Ltd, followed by a networking lunch.
