With the aim of ensuring better health services for the people, Punjab Horticulture, Freedom Fighters and Defence Services Welfare Minister Mohinder Bhagat today conducted a surprise inspection of the local ESI Hospital.
On this occasion, the Cabinet Minister visited various departments including OPD, Emergency, Eye, Orthopaedics, Dental, Medicine, and Surgery, and reviewed in detail the health facilities being provided to patients in the hospital. He also interacted with patients admitted in the wards and took their feedback regarding the health services being provided in the hospital.
Expressing satisfaction over the services being provided to patients, Mr. Bhagat urged hospital authorities to further improve these services so that ESI beneficiaries can receive timely, effective, and quality healthcare. He said that each and every employee who was contributing regularly to ESI should get the best health services. He also emphasised that the authorities should further increase awareness among employees regarding the health schemes and facilities of the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC).
Later, while interacting with the media, Cabinet Minister Mohinder Bhagat said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government has always prioritised the health sector and has taken several initiatives to strengthen health services. Terming the Punjab Government’s decision to provide health insurance of Rs. 10 lakh to all citizens as historic, he said that a large number of people would now be able to benefit from high-quality health services, especially those who were unable to get treatment due to financial constraints. Mr. Bhagat said that by implementing this scheme without any bias, it would be ensured that every household in the state is provided with a health card.
On this occasion, Medical Superintendent Dr. Vandana, Dr. Namita Ghai, Dr. Vishwas Luthra, and other hospital staff were also present.
