Rupnagar Police on Thursday held public meetings under Project Sampark launched by Chief Minister Punjab Bhagwant Singh Mann and DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav at various places in District Rupnagar.
While addressing the public meeting at Arora Palace in village Khairabad, DIG Rupnagar Range IPS Nilambari Jagadale said that by establishing smooth coordination with public, it is easier to get ground zero reality & inputs to curb the criminal activities.
She said that Rupnagar Police has organised 10 meeting across the district to set up the adequate coordination with Mohalla Committees, NGOs, Residential associations, Presidents of Municipal Councils, MCs, Sarpanches.
She informed that the Punjab government has opened cyber police stations to address cyber frauds. This station has been opened at Sadar Police Station Rupnagar. If any person faces any kind of online fraud, he/she can register his complaint at the cyber station or 1930 helpline.
She said that for any kind of complaint against drugs, the Safe Punjab Helpline 97791-00200 can be contacted on WhatsApp. The number, address and name of the person complaining on this number are kept confidential.
All issues of the common people will be resolved through public meetings she said adding that Punjab Police is constantly working to further ensure the safety of the common citizens and views are being shared on every issue regarding drugs, mafia, gangsters and other matters in public meetings.
Suggestions have also been taken from the dignitaries and common people which will be implemented soon, she said.
She further with the cooperation of the common people, police can easily control the crimes, drugs and anti-social elements and with this aim, we all have to come together and create an example and increase mutual companionship.
On this occasion, She also issued instructions to police officials to immediately act on complaints to stop criminal activities.
During the meeting, the people from the city and villages, while discussing the issues of the city, appealed to install maximum CCTV cameras on the roads. They also requested to further intensify the movement of patrolling across the district and install more traffic lights.
On this occasion, SP Headquarters Rajpal Singh Hundal, D.S.P Rajpal Singh Gill and SHO Pawan Kumar were also present.
