Oil companies announced a roughly ₹50 increase in commercial LPG cylinder prices effective today, February 1. In a small relief, domestic LPG cylinder prices remain unchanged.
New Rates for Commercial Cylinders (19 kg) in Major Cities
According to figures released by oil companies, the updated prices are:
Delhi: ₹1,740.50 (up ₹49 from ₹1,691.50)
Kolkata: ₹1,844.50 (up ₹49.50 from ₹1,795)
Mumbai: ₹1,692 (up ₹49.50 from ₹1,642.50)
Chennai: ₹1,899.50 (up ₹50 from ₹1,849.50)
Domestic Cylinders (14.2 kg) Stay Steady
Household cooking gas prices are unchanged. In Delhi, a domestic cylinder costs ₹853, and in Patna, it’s ₹951. Over the past five years, budget-day prices for domestic cylinders have seen no changes, while commercial rates have fluctuated.

2022: Commercial cylinder in Delhi dropped ₹91.50.
2023: No change in prices.
2024: Commercial cylinder rose ₹18.
2025: Minor ₹6.50 cut in commercial cylinder price.
2026: Sharp ₹50 hike in commercial cylinder rates.
This increase will likely raise food costs at restaurants, dhabas, and hotels. The pre-budget adjustment has heightened market concerns over inflation.
