Ghaziabad Police Recommend Ban on 4 Dangerous Mobile Games

Ghaziabad: February 9, 2026

Ghaziabad Police has sent a detailed report to the Uttar Pradesh government recommending a nationwide ban on four major online games. This follows the investigation into the suicide of three sisters who jumped from the ninth floor of a building.

Names of the 4 Games Targeted for Ban

Police have specifically flagged these games as dangerous to children’s and youth mental health:

  • Poppy Playtime

  • The Baby in Yellow

  • Evil Nun

  • Ice Scream

Cause Behind the Suicide

Probe revealed the three sisters were excessively addicted to Korean culture (K-Culture) and task-based games. They were so immersed in Korean food, dramas (K-Dramas), and games that they lost the ability to distinguish reality from fiction.

A suicide note found mentioned these four games as their “favorites.” DCP (Trans-Hindon) stated these games instill fear, violence, and a mindset of completing bizarre tasks in adolescents.

Government’s Next Steps

Following the Ghaziabad Police report, the UP government may approach the central IT Ministry (MeitY). Since these games are available on Google Play Store and Apple Store, a nationwide ban will require central intervention.

Expert Advice: If children or teens at home play online games, monitor their activities. If they start isolating or show sudden behavioral changes, seek counseling immediately.
