Major Tumble in Gold-Silver Prices: Gold ₹36,000, Silver ₹1.67 Lakh Cheaper from Peak

After shattering records early 2026, gold and silver markets witness sharp correction. Weekly uptick noted, but versus January all-time highs, buyers/investors get major relief.

Silver’s Historic Volatility

Silver first crossed ₹4 lakh/kg this year; peaked at ₹4,20,048/kg on Jan 29. Now ₹1,67,104 cheaper per kg. MCX closed Friday at ₹2,52,944/kg (up ₹8,584 weekly from ₹2,44,360).

Gold Loses Sheen

Gold hit ₹1,93,096/10g on Jan 29; now ₹36,220 cheaper. Friday MCX close: ₹1,56,876/10g (weekly +₹981).

Domestic IBJA Rates

Indian Bullion Jewellers Association: 24K gold ₹1,55,066/10g; 22K ₹1,51,340; 20K ₹1,38,010; 18K ₹1,25,600. Silver ₹2,50,314/kg.
