Aykai Hospital, in collaboration with Glodas – Gift of Life Organ Donation Awareness Society – and SOTTO Punjab (State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation), proudly organised a grand event to mark World Organ Donor Day. The theme for this year’s celebration was “Jiwan Da Taan – Gift of Life”, highlighting the life-changing impact of organ donation.
The event was graced by eminent personalities, Padma Shree Hans Raj Hans Ji, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), including renowned Pollywood actress and singer Mrs. Amar Noorie, and Mr. Deepak Bali, Tourism Advisor, Government of Punjab.
Led by Ravinder Ranguwal in collaboration with the Navjot Singh Dhadi Group, the programme featured a special cultural performance showcasing the importance and emotional depth of organ donation.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Baldev Singh Aulakh, Chairman of Aykai Hospital, Chief Urologist and Transplant Surgeon, said

By blending the emotional power of Punjab folk music with stories of organ donors and recipients, we aim to awaken hearts. These are not just songs –they are songs of life, songs of giving and songs of eternal legacy.

“It is important for everyone to understand that one brain-dead donor can save up to eight lives.”
Dr Aulakh highlighted the urgent need for organs in India, noting that countless people lose their lives each year while waiting for transplants.
The event also graced by Dr. Gagneen Kaur Sandhu, Nodal Officer, SOTTO Punjab, who encouraged everyone to voluntarily register for organ donation and also explained that how the process of Cadaver organ donation takes place. Dr Gaganeen also lead the pledge ceremony in which all the attendees took active part.
Padma shree hans Raj Hans ji congratulated Aykai Hospital for this wonderful event and was happy to be part of the event.Hans ji added this is a very unique message which should travel amongst people that how after we leave this planet we can give new lease of life to many.
Amarnoorie Mam Famous Singer actress said she is delighted to celebrate this world ogan donor day as she is hersels a donor to her husband Mr sardool Sikander ji. Motivated people to come forward for this wonderful cause so that many lives can be saved and said that it is the most generous donation one can do and must do.
The patients who received organs said that they are really thankful to the donor families due to their strengthful decision they got a second chance of life.
The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Dr. Amit, Consultant – Urology, acknowledging the contribution of all dignitaries, performers, and attendees.
Through this initiative, Aykai Hospital reaffirmed its commitment to serving the community and spreading awareness about the noble cause of organ donation, inspiring many to take the pledge and give the gift of life.
