Ludhiana/Chandigarh, June 19
The Aam Aadmi Party has strongly condemned Congress candidate Bharat Bhushan Ashu for pushing and shoving police personnel in the Ludhiana West Assembly constituency. AAP Punjab President Aman Arora advised Ashu to follow the law and cooperate with the police to maintain peace in the area during the elections instead of fighting with them.
Aman Arora stated that the atmosphere during the campaign had already indicated that AAP candidate Sanjeev Arora was heading towards a massive victory. As the voting day approaches, the public sentiment in favour of the Aam Aadmi Party is growing stronger. Seeing this, Congress leaders and their candidate have become anxious. Unnerved, they are resorting to violent actions.
Arora said that Ashu’s act of pushing and threatening police personnel has once again refreshed memories of his history of hooliganism and autocracy. From day one, the Aam Aadmi Party has been saying that Ashu is an arrogant individual, and today he himself proved it.
He added that Ashu’s supporters were beating up a poor boy, and when the police apprehended them, Ashu clashed with the police himself. Pushing, threatening, and assaulting people is Congress’s culture, but such behavior will not be tolerated in an AAP-led government.
Arora appealed to the people to vote according to their conscience. They should cast their votes for a candidate they truly like. Do not waste your vote by electing a wrong candidate. Vote for a candidate who will maintain law and order and peace in the area. Leaders who indulge in hooliganism can never work for the betterment of the common people. Therefore, vote wisely.
Arora also appealed to all political parties to follow the law and cooperate with the administration in maintaining a peaceful atmosphere during the elections.
