“The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has created history in Punjab’s local body elections, securing over 50% of the wards across 977 constituencies. This resounding victory is a testament to AAP’s pro-people governance and commitment to transparent politics,” stated AAP Punjab President Aman Arora.
Taking to Twitter, Arora congratulated AAP’s National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, and all winning candidates. “Heartfelt congratulations to Arvind Kejriwal ji, Bhagwant Mann ji, and all the winning candidates for AAP Punjab’s splendid victory in the municipal elections. I sincerely thank all our workers for their relentless efforts. I expect all the elected councillors to remain dedicated to public service and development,” he tweeted.
In a statement issued to the media, Arora highlighted the encouraging results, saying, “In Patiala and Jalandhar, we have performed exceptionally well. While results in smaller corporations like Phagwara weren’t entirely in our favor, Ludhiana and Amritsar results are still being tallied, and we are optimistic.”
Arora commended the Election Commission for conducting free and fair elections, contrasting it with the mismanagement during Congress’s tenure. “During Congress’s time, elections were nothing short of a mockery, with widespread rigging and manipulation. This time, we have witnessed transparent elections, and the public’s mandate has prevailed. The leap we’ve taken from zero to such a significant victory is a monumental achievement for AAP,” he said.
Taking a jibe at the opposition parties, Arora said, “Akali Dal and BJP have been completely wiped out. BJP’s illusion of dominance in urban areas has been shattered, and people have shown them the mirror. Congress, Akali Dal, and BJP struggled to even find candidates to contest in several wards. AAP was the only party with a robust organizational structure to field candidates on its election symbol in every ward.”
Arora clarified that AAP’s alliance with Congress under the INDIA bloc is limited to the national level. “In Punjab, we have no alliance with Congress. Our fight was and continues to be directly against them,” he asserted.
Crediting the victory to the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann, Arora thanked the tireless efforts of AAP’s workers, volunteers, and leaders. He assured the public that the party would review its performance in every ward, working to strengthen governance and addressing gaps for future improvements.
