Aiming to eradicate drugs from Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) ‘Nasha Mukti Yatra,’ initiated by National Convener Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, continued on its second day.
the Cabinet Ministers and MLAs of the party organized anti-drug programs in three villages of their respective constituencies and addressed gatherings to raise awareness. Thousands of people, apart from local AAP leaders and workers, participated in the campaign and praised the Punjab government and Aam Aadmi Party for organizing the yatra against drugs.
On Monday, under the ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ campaign, Aam Aadmi Party MLAs and ministers, along with their constituency in-charges, conducted the ‘Nasha Mukti Yatra’ in over 250 villages and raised awareness among the people against drugs.
During the journey, AAP leaders appealed to the people to support the government’s campaign against drugs and ensure that drug-addicted individuals are quickly admitted to rehabilitation centers.
At several locations, MLAs and ministers administered oaths to people, urging them not to use drugs, to boycott drug peddlers, and to refrain from providing any form of social support, especially in terms of bail for cases filed against drug dealers.
There was great enthusiasm among the people about anti-drug drive. People voluntarily joined the campaign and openly praised the government’s initiative. During the journey, several panchayats, in the presence of Cabinet Ministers, declared their villages drug-free.
The purpose of the Drug-Free Campaign is to connect people with the initiative and seek their support in eradicating drugs from the root. In his recent speech, AAP Convener Arvind Kejriwal emphasized that no campaign can succeed without the participation of the common people. Therefore, AAP leaders are reaching out to as many people as possible and appealing to them to support the government’s efforts against drugs.
